April Hieronymus
Board President
As a Realtor, I serve my clients providing them with the services they need to get through a real estate transaction. I have been known for trips to Sharing Connections and packing last minute boxes when the movers are there. My clients and I work as a team to really package the home for sale. The community I live in is a hidden gem. Glendale Heights and the surrounding towns have a lot to offer its residents. I am a firm believer in supporting our business community and making our local area stronger economically and socially. I'm President of Kiwanis of Glendale Heights that volunteers locally in schools and events as well as part of the Glenside Library Board. I love being involved and giving back to the blessings of my life.
Ken Edl
Board Vice President
Ken is currently a Senior Vice President in the Business Banking group of Bloomingdale Bank and Trust, A Wintrust Community Bank. In this role, he is responsible for the business development of new commercial banking clients for the Bank as well as managing his portfolio of commercial clients. Prior to joining Wintrust, he maintained similar roles at two other Banks in Bloomingdale. He has over 20 years of commercial banking experience within DuPage county. Ken holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Elmhurst College with majors in Finance and Economics. He also received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from DePaul University.
Connie Barreras
Treasurer
Connie is the Lt. Governor for Kiwanis Division 9, which includes Kiwanis Club of Glendale Heights. Connie is also on the board of the Glenside Public Library District and was a past President. She has lived in Glendale Heights for over 35 years with her husband and two adult children who attended Marquardt Schools and Glenbard East High School. Connie enjoys volunteering and attending events in Glendale Heights and her mission is to get more people in the community to discover the value of volunteerism.

Derek has worked for AMITA Health Bolingbrook since 2007 as the first Executive Director, Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation raising more than $3 million over the next 12 years. In 2019 he was offered the opportunity to lead our physician and community relations enterprise for GlenOaks and Bolingbrook. He currently serves on several boards and committees across more than a dozen organizations in our service area for both hospitals.
